Program Overview
Fairmont/Morgantown Housing Authority offers various affordable housing rehab programs to existing homeowners. These programs are designed to assist low-to-moderate homeowners make repairs to their home.
Rehab Products
The Help Loan is administered through WVHDF and can assist low-income homeowners meet EMERGENCY housing repair needs, such as roof, window repair, heating, cooling, sewer, etc... Loans range from $1,000-$10,000 and are offered at 3% for a fixed term of 8 years. Current Homeowner must provide proof of paid tax receipt, current deed, proof of insurance. All closing costs are included in the loan amount. A budgeting session is required for each loan applicant.. Income limits apply.
- THE CDBG Housing Rehabilitation Program
This program is only available to Homeowners and Landlords
within the City of Morgantown.
Funded through the City of Morgantown CDGB Program, Morgantown Housing Authority offers low interest loans and grants to qualified homeowners for repairs.

- Home must be in the City of Morgantown.
- Provide proof of Homeowners Insurance.
- Provide proof of Paid City Taxes/Fees.
- Some Credit Criteria Apply
- Have Household Income below 80% of Area Median Income (see below)

- Mountaineer Mortgage Program - This new product is offered by WVHDF. This program allows homeowners a way to finance or refinance their home and pay up to $25,000 in renovations. This product uses one loan, one fixed interest rate and one payment. Some restrictions apply.
